Welcome to CROXLEY GREEN Hertfordshire
Croxley Green sits on the north-west edge of London, just inside (the London side of) the car park which is the M25 motorway, and is
situated in the triangle created by Watford, Rickmansworth and Langleybury in South-West Hertfordshire. Surrounded by water in many guises and greenery of most types, Croxley Green
is lucky to be a green oasis very close to London enjoyed by its (2004) 12,500 inhabitants in 5,000 homes.
There is a pleasant canal walk, eastwards, into the beautiful Cassiobury Park and an equally pleasant walk, westwards, to the Rickmansworth Aquadrome. Other walks through farm and woodland abound together with some alongside lazy streams, rivers, brooks and cress beds.
Croxley Green boasts, in addition to the very positive village atmosphere, a host of activities for its inhabitants and visitors to enjoy. There are a variety of clubs, for all ages, ranging from the sporting/athletic kind (tennis, badminton, football, rugby, cricket, hockey, outdoor and carpet bowls, cycling, skateboarding and various types of dancing)
through to the less energetic kind (Over50, needle-crafters, acoustic guitar, wine society, vineyard group, camera club, various weight watching, and even a jazz workshop). Croxley Green is also proud to boast of the Croxley Green Mummers who act out their play once a year just before Xmas. Of course, The Green itself boasts the Croxley Green Revels staged annually on the 3rd Saturday in June.
If you are into the high-life or "The City" then Croxley Station on the Metropolitan Line will take you into London in 40 minutes.
Croxley Green cannot boast of department stores or major shopping experiences, you will have to go elsewhere for that, but Croxley Green
can boast of friendly local shops all keen to serve you. Croxley Green has got plenty of facilities including 7 pubs, 4 licensed clubs, a restaurant, a variety of fast-food outlets, at least one slow-food outlet, newsagents and mini marts, hairdressers, barbers, beauty parlours, a library and VERY good schools. Some local Croxley Green venues put on LIVE music including folk, blues, jazz, and R&B. Most of it FREE.
The village of Croxley Green is "privileged" to have its own Parish Council and forms part of Three Rivers District Council.
